Related Site Asian weddings have a long history of customs that date back many centuries. These traditions are meant to honor family and recognize one’s originality, whether it be the baraat in India, the gate-crashing games at Chinese celebrations, or the exchanging of red letters at Vietnamese marriages.

Even though some of these customs may have been lost to contemporary lifestyle, they are still valuable to uphold. In this article, we look at five of our favorite Asiatic bride festival customs that are deserving of the major evening.

Chinese traditions for weddings

Many of the most beloved Chinese wedding rites involve opportune symbols like creatures, onagers and chinese birds as they are seen as symptoms of good fortune. Any Chinese wedding should include the Double Happiness mark, which combines two identical Chinese characters that denote delight and represents pleasure and fealty. As a sign of success, it was customarily hung on the wall of the couple’s house and displayed for three nights.

Another crucial component of any Chinese wedding is the drink festival, which honors parents. The bride and groom serve teas to each of their sets of parents while knelt on teas cushions during the ceremony. Each older sibling receives a donation based on their rank and is officially introduced by name. The handful also receives presents from their visitors in the form of chi bao, or crimson envelopes.

It’s important to keep in mind that each society has its own cultures, even though some of these rites might seem a little strange. As a result, rather than homogenizing each of these cultures, we should acknowledge the richness that each represents.
